Alexey Chernov

Born in 1982, Alexey Chernov began studying music from age of four. He studied at the Central Special Music School of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatoire, where he was taught by N. Rogal levitskaya, Kira Shashkina and Natalia Troull. While at school, Alexey won prixes in various international youth piano competitions. He graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatoire and is currently a postgraduate student at the Royal College of Music in London. He studies with Vanessa Latarche.

Alexey’s recent prizes include 6th prize at the 14th Vianna da Motta International Piano Competition in Lisbon (2001), 4the Prize at the 10th Unisa International Piano Competition in Pretoria, South Africa (2004), First Prize at the International Piano Competition Minsk / Belarus (2005), Second Prize at the Parnassos International Piano Competition in México (2006), and Second Prize Winner at the Emil Gils International Piano Competition (Ukraine 2006), and the Fourth international Scriabin Piano Competition (Moscow). He has won First at Muse International Piano Competition in September 2008 (Santorini, Greece). He won first prize, audience prize and special prize at Scriabin International Piano Competition in Grosseto (Italy, 2009) and First Prize and Audience Prize at Morocco International Piano Competition in Casablanca (2009). He won first prize and special prize at Spanish composers international piano competition in Las Rozas(Spain, 2009). He has recently won Second Prize at 1st Susez International Piano Competition (UK, April 2010) and First Prize at 13th Jaen Francaix International Piano Competition in Vanves (france, April 2010), First Prize at 20th AMA Calabria International Piano CompetitionValsessia Musica in Italy (September 2010), First prize at the International Piano Competition “Luciano Gante” in Pordenone (Italy, October 2010) and First prize at the 4th Campillos International Piano Competition (Spain, December 2010) and Third Prize at the 57 International Music Competition Maria Canals de Barcelona (2011).

Alexey performed as a soloist with such conductors as Enrique Batiz, Alexander Sladvosky, Mikhail Pletnev, Ravil Martynov, Dmitry Orlov and with many others. Alexey Currently performs in concerts in Russia and elsewhere in Europe both in solo recitals and with orchestras.
